SUMMARY:Towards COP31: The "COP of the Future – COP of Application" Visio
 n Shared in Ankara
DESCRIPTION:The COP31 Consultation Meeting was held in Ankara regarding the
  #COP31 process\, which Turkey will host in Antalya in 2026\, with the part
 icipation of representatives from the public sector\, academia\, and variou
 s other stakeholders. Minister of Environment\, Urbanization and Climate Ch
 ange Mr. Murat Kurum and Head of Climate Change Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar also 
 attended the meeting.\nThe meeting emphasized that #COP is not a conference
  or a promotional event\, but the highest-level decision-making mechanism f
 or global climate governance. It was stated that COP31 aims to transform cl
 imate commitments into tangible\, measurable\, and traceable results on the
  ground with the understanding of "COP of the Future: COP of Action." The f
 undamental approach of the process is shaped through the "#dialogue – #co
 nsensus – #action" chain.\nProf. Dr. Rana Atabay Kuşçu\, Director of Is
 tanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development and Twin Transition Appli
 cation and Research Center (SURKAM)\, moderated the “Youth and Climate Am
 bassadors” session held within the scope of the meeting. The session addr
 essed the participation of young people in climate policies\, capacity buil
 ding\, strengthening multi-stakeholder collaborations and the necessity for
  COP31 to leave a lasting legacy for youth.\nThe shared COP31 #Action_Agend
 a was structured around six thematic pillars: energy and industrial transfo
 rmation\, nature and biodiversity\, agriculture and food systems\, cities a
 nd infrastructure\, human and social development\, and finance\, technology
 \, and capacity building. \n#MedipolSURKAM Director Prof. Dr. Rana Atabay 
 Kuşçu emphasized in his evaluation during the meeting that COP31 offers T
 urkey an opportunity not only to host but also to institutionalize a climat
 e action process that moves from dialogue to consensus and then to action.
