 tion Plan (SECAP) Workshop!
DESCRIPTION:As Istanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development and Twin
  Transition Application and Research Center (SURKAM)\, we participated in t
 he Beykoz Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) – Governance
  for Beykoz from Local to Global: Beykoz Climate Workshop\, organized under
  the coordination of Beykoz Municipality Directorate of Climate Change and 
 Zero Waste.\nHeld on 6 August 2026 at the Beykoz Municipality Council Hall\
 , the workshop was conducted with a collaborative approach in line with the
  goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions\, increasing climate change ada
 ptation capacity\, and creating low-carbon\, climate-resilient cities.\nWit
 hin the scope of the workshop\, the district’s greenhouse gas emissions i
 nventory was evaluated\, climate risks were addressed\, and applicable miti
 gation and adaptation strategies were identified.\nWorkshop Stakeholders\nT
 he main institutions and organizations that participated in the action plan
  workshop\, reflecting a multi-stakeholder governance approach in the fight
  against climate change\, are as follows:\n– Local Governments and Munici
 palities: Beykoz Municipality\, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (Climate
  Change Branch Directorate)\, and other district municipalities of Istanbul
 .– Public Institutions and Provincial/District Directorates: Istanbul Pro
 vincial Directorate of Environment\, Urbanization and Climate Change\; Prov
 incial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry\; Kanlıca For
 estry Operations Directorate\; 1st Regional Directorate of Meteorology\; Di
 strict Directorates of National Education\, Police\, and Health\; Land Regi
 stry Directorate\; and the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation.– 
 Universities: Istanbul Medipol University\, Turkish-German University\, and
  Beykoz University.– Public Utilities and Infrastructure Organizations: 
 İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration) and İGDAŞ.– Civil S
 ociety and Professional Organizations: TAP (Portable Battery Manufacturers 
 and Importers Association) and the Anatolian Side Chamber of Market Vendors
  and Street Tradespeople.– Private Sector and Business Representatives: R
 epresentatives of the private sector and local businesses in the region\, i
 ncluding Medistate Hospital and A’jia Hotel\, as well as neighborhood hea
 dmen.\nAs SURKAM\, we continue to provide academic and scientific contribut
 ions to a sustainable future and climate-resilient urbanization processes.\
