Prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, the 2025–2028 National Circular Economy Strategy and Action Plan has been published in the Official Gazette and has officially entered into force.
The strategy aims to increase resource efficiency, reduce waste generation, and accelerate the transition to sustainable production and consumption models.
Within the scope of the Plan, seven priority sectors have been identified: packaging, batteries–vehicles, construction–buildings, electronics–ICT, food–biomass, plastics, and textiles.
A total of 53 actions will be implemented across these sectors, and new practices aligned with circular economy principles will be developed nationwide.
Prepared in line with Türkiye’s 2053 Net Zero Emissions target, this Plan represents an important step toward an environmentally and economically sustainable future.
As the Istanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development Application and Research Center, we actively contribute to this transformation through our Circular Economy Working Group. We conduct research on circular production models, waste management, resource efficiency, and sustainable consumption, and support national-level policies and practices through education, awareness-raising, and collaboration projects.
The future will be shaped by circularity!
