Strengthening the role of youth in climate diplomacy during the preparatory process for COP31, Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Turkey 2026 brings together the views, priorities, and solution proposals of young people regarding climate policies.

At the event, which we attended alongside our students Nehir Erduğan, Senanur Şamlı, and Eren Bekdemir, our SURKAM Director Prof. Dr. Rana Atabay Kuşçu shared her evaluations on preparing youth for the climate crisis, their active participation in decision-making processes, and supporting transformation through education during the session titled “The Intersection of Youth, Education, and Climate”.

The efforts shaped by the active participation of youth at LCOY Turkey, which lasted for three days, are aimed at contributing to significant outcomes extending to the National Youth Statement and the COP31 process. 🌱
