THINGS TO DO

Find a Goal 7 charity you want to support. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference!

Switch off your appliances at the socket. Turn off the lights when you’re not using them.

Turn off your air conditioning, especially for sleeping – open a window or use a fan.

Buy rechargeable electronics. Don’t buy or use one-use batteries.

Don’t use multiple devices at the same time. Be mindful about this and only several devices when absolutely necessary.

Use solar energy sources. Install solar panels in your home for your heating and electricity. Use solar technology – radio, charger, lights etc…

Stay informed. Follow your local news and stay in touch with the Global Goals online or on social media at @TheGlobalGoals.

Istanbul Medipol University‘s Commitment to SDG 7

Affordable and Clean Energy

Istanbul Medipol University recognizes the importance of transitioning towards sustainable, affordable, and clean energy systems as a core component of global climate responsibility. Guided by SDG 7, Medipol is committed to promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy awareness, and responsible energy use across its campuses and academic ecosystem.

The University implements energy-efficient practices within its facilities, including optimized lighting systems, energy-saving technologies, and responsible consumption strategies. Awareness initiatives and campus guidelines encourage energy-conscious behaviors among students and staff to reduce environmental impact and operational energy use.

Medipol fosters academic engagement, research, and innovation in areas related to sustainable energy, environmental engineering, and green technologies. Through interdisciplinary research projects, academic programs, and collaborations with industry and public institutions, the University contributes to knowledge generation and capacity building in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Student-led sustainability clubs and volunteer groups play an active role in promoting clean energy literacy and environmentally responsible actions. Activities, workshops, and campaigns raise awareness on renewable energy solutions, carbon footprint reduction, and sustainable campus behaviors.

As part of its sustainability vision, Medipol aims to further expand eco-friendly infrastructure and integrate clean-energy considerations into institutional planning, environmental strategies, and future campus development processes.

By aligning institutional priorities and educational efforts with SDG 7, Istanbul Medipol University supports the transition toward clean, affordable, and sustainable energy systems, fostering environmental responsibility and climate-conscious action across its community.
