As the Istanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development and Twin Transition Application and Research Center (SURKAM), we are pleased to announce that the carbon footprint of the #COP31 #Simulation event we organized on May 2, 2026, has been offset in accordance with Gold Standard verification standards.
As a result of the measurement and offsetting activities undertaken, the #emissions generated during our event were offset against 11 tons of #CO2 and certified as “#carbon #neutral” in accordance with international standards. This development demonstrates that our approach to #sustainability goes beyond mere concepts, evolving into a mindset that is supported by concrete data, monitored, and put into practice.

The COP31 simulation was a meaningful example not only in terms of discussions on #climate policies, global cooperation, and a vision for a sustainable future, but also in terms of integrating environmental responsibility into event processes.
