The climate crisis remains a global issue with its economic, political, and social dimensions, extending far beyond its environmental impacts. The COP31 Simulation organized in this context offers participants the opportunity to experience international negotiation processes and understand the perspectives of different actors.
The program will feature an opening speech by Mr. Ömer Öztürk, Head of the Adaptation and Local Policies Department of the Presidency of Climate Change.
🔹 Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz on “The Scientific Reality of the Climate Crisis: The Background of COP Negotiations”,
🔹 Prof. Dr. Rana Atabay Kuşçu on “From Climate Crisis to Trade Wars: The Strategic Role of Twin Transition in the COP Process”,
🔹 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Özarslan will contribute on the topic “Why Isn’t the Climate Crisis Just an Environmental Issue?”
🔹 Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydemir will contribute under the title “COP Perspective on Behavior, Persuasion, and Change.”
Following the sessions that will take place throughout the day, participants will prepare with country delegations, take part in the main negotiation process and play an active role in the delegates’ session.
