Organized in collaboration with Istanbul Medipol University SURKAM and the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), METAHack Sustainathon 2025 was successfully completed after an intensive 24-hour period during which innovative ideas focused on sustainability were developed and the spirit of hackathon was strongly felt.

During this intensive marathon held on 13–14 December, participants developed projects by proposing solutions for Akfen Renewable Energy around the themes of sustainability, circular economy, green transformation, and innovation. This process, which transformed ideas into projects within a short time, strongly reflected interdisciplinary collaboration and a culture of co-creation.

Throughout the event, not only ideas but also the carbon footprint of the event was measured, ensuring that the sustainability approach was concretely implemented in practice.

At the end of this productive 24-hour period, following the jury evaluations, the SUSTAGROW team was awarded first place with their project titled Sustainable Biohydrogen Production from a Microalgae Photobioreactor Integrated into Soilless Agriculture. The E0MISSION team achieved second place with the Solar Loop project, while the KYU team received third place with the Akfen Green Route Projects.
