The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Credit Bureau (KKB) signed the Environmental Performance Data Sharing Protocol.
Minister Murat Kurum stated that a new era in environmentally friendly production has begun with the “Green Transformation in Industry” regulation and emphasized that industrial companies receiving an A-class certificate will gain greater prestige in the international market.
Under the new regulation, 6,000 facilities will be classified, with priority given to energy and resource efficiency. As part of Türkiye’s alignment with the European Green Deal, the carbon footprint of Türkiye’s exports will become even more critical.
While strengthening the environmental performance of industrial companies, this step will also create new lines of business and areas of expertise.
Prof. Dr. Rana Atabay Kuşçu, Director of the Sustainable Development Application and Research Center (Medipol SURKAM), also attended this important meeting upon the invitation of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
Türkiye is taking determined steps toward sustainable development with its goal of #EnvironmentallyFriendlyIndustry!
