🌍 In the Youth Session held within the framework of the Zero Waste Forum 2026, the role of young people in climate action, zero waste, and sustainable development processes was discussed. ♻️
During the session, Samed Ağırbaş, President of the Zero Waste Foundation and High-Level Champion for COP31 Climate, highlighted the importance of the zero-waste approach in combating the climate crisis and the critical role of young people in this transformation process. While COP31 Youth Climate Champion Sally Higgins highlighted the impacts of climate change—particularly on small island states—Paolo Marchi, Representative of the UNICEF Turkish National Committee, emphasized the importance of initiatives focused on children and youth for a sustainable future. 🌱
While Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak spoke about support programs and participation mechanisms for young people, Selman Bilir, President of the Youth Diplomacy Association, emphasized the need for greater representation of young people on #national and #international platforms.
✨ Throughout the session, it was emphasized that young people’s #climate action, zero waste, and their processes are not only participants but also important stakeholders of transformation and future leaders.
Our assistant students who participated in the forum on behalf of Medipol SURKAM had the opportunity to listen to the views of expert speakers, follow current sustainability approaches and meet with representatives of different institutions.
