Outstanding Researcher Award

Prof. Dr. Bahar Güntekin, Faculty Member of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University, has been selected among Türkiye’s Outstanding Researchers within TÜBİTAK’s 2247-A National Outstanding Researchers Program. As one of the 44 leading researchers supported under the 2023 cycle, Prof. Güntekin’s work was recognized for its scientific impact and contributions to neuroscience.

Prof. Güntekin, who also serves as an Associate Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), emphasized that this recognition provides strong motivation for her research team and contributes to Türkiye’s scientific capacity. Highlighting the importance of supporting researchers who remain in the country or return through reverse brain-drain programs, she thanked TÜBİTAK and BİDEB for their continued support.

This achievement underscores Istanbul Medipol University’s commitment to advancing women’s leadership in science, research excellence, and capacity building, aligning with the objectives of SDG 5: Gender Equality.
