Life on Land

Istanbul Medipol University is committed to protecting terrestrial ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and promoting environmental awareness to ensure the sustainability of natural habitats. Guided by SDG 15, the University integrates environmental responsibility into education, research, and community initiatives that contribute to preserving life on land.

Medipol promotes eco-friendly practices across its campuses, including green space development, tree-planting activities, and biodiversity-friendly campus planning. Awareness events, student initiatives, and sustainability campaigns help foster environmental consciousness and respect for natural ecosystems.

Academic programs and research activities related to environmental sciences, agriculture, public health, and ecology contribute to the development of knowledge on biodiversity protection, land degradation, and sustainable ecosystem management. Interdisciplinary research supports data-driven solutions aimed at protecting natural habitats and enhancing ecological resilience.

Medipol collaborates with public institutions, NGOs, and local authorities on environmental projects that promote conservation, reforestation, and community-based environmental action. Student clubs actively participate in fieldwork, volunteering, and nature protection initiatives, strengthening university–community engagement.

Environmental literacy programs, seminars, and training encourage responsible behavior and promote a culture of sustainability among students and staff. These efforts contribute to shared responsibility for conserving land resources and protecting ecosystems.

By aligning its institutional values and initiatives with SDG 15, Istanbul Medipol University supports the protection of terrestrial ecosystems and reinforces its commitment to a sustainable, biodiverse, and environmentally responsible future.
